Much of the work Vocabolo supports is tied to trauma, healing, equity, identity, and power. In these spaces, communication carries responsibility.
I often work with organizations that don’t have a communications lead, or whose work has grown beyond the structure they have in place.
Why This Work Matters
The way organizations communicate shapes how their work is understood, how decisions get made, and whether their impact is taken seriously. I believe that communication isn’t separate from the mission — it’s part of how the mission moves forward.

Meet Ibis Antongiorgi
I’m a strategic communications professional with more than 25 years of experience across nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors.
Raised on Chicago’s Southwest Side, I remain closely connected to the Pilsen and Little Village neighborhoods. That experience has shaped how I understand the impact of disinvestment and the role communications plays in how communities are seen and understood.
My background includes work with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, the Chicago Department of Public Health, Cook County Government, and the Chicago Transit Authority, along with years of consulting for organizations focused on social justice, community health, and social impact.
My work spans strategic communications, public relations, brand development, media training, digital strategy, and crisis communications.
