We Combine Expertise with Experience

Vocabolo means word in Italian. Our words can shape how we’re perceived, particularly on the issues we speak about so we choose words carefully. We’re not in the habit of throwing words at the wall to see what sticks.

Vocabolo combines over 25 years of communications expertise with lived experience. That means you can count on advice that’s practical, relatable and proven to work. It’s not just theory—it’s experience-driven solutions that set us apart.

We offer valuable perspectives and strategies aimed at connecting and engaging with your audience. It’s about getting people to buy in to what you care about and how it matters to all of us.

When you bring heart, integrity and purpose into your communication—it resonates and people pay attention. This is your authentic voice. We call it Perception Positioning.

What We DoPerception Positioning

WHAT DRIVES US

Perception is everything.

We use Perception Positioning to cut through the clutter and zero in on the why to create communication that connects with your audience.

Your voice matters.

Together, we lift up human potential, advocate for community investments and stand in solidarity with those who are advancing equity, social justice and the social good.

Communication is not an afterthought.

The most well-intentioned efforts are weakened when communication is not a priority. You'll have a deeper impact when communication is viewed as an integral part of a strategic plan.

Meet Ibis Antongiorgi
President & Founder

My professional journey immersed me in the dynamic cultural, social and political landscape of Chicago where I became passionate about grassroots movements, neighborhood engagement and community healing.

25 years of experience

My breadth of experience includes over 25 years of strategic communication, digital marketing, media relations, public relations and crisis communication expertise. I’ve served in various roles in the nonprofit, corporate and government sectors, including the lllinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Protection, Chicago Dept. of Public Health, Cook County Board President’s Office and Chicago Transit Authority, among others.

Raised on Chicago’s Southwest Side

I know firsthand the challenges faced by low resource communities, particularly the impact of historical disinvestment in Black and Brown neighborhoods. Because of my experiences I’m committed to breaking the cycle of generational trauma that can paralyze people from seeking their true purpose; cultivating the voices of youth; and partnering with others who believe in the power of human potential.

As a creative, I believe writing and public art are essential pathways to expression, healing and release. I often collaborate with my sister, inter-dimensional artist and muralist Sandra Antongiorgi, to increase awareness of underrepresented members of the community.

I was born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico; I have deep and proud roots in the city’s Pilsen and Little Village communities.
